Victober is Here!

Victober has begun—and that makes me very happy! What is Victober, you ask? For the uninitiated, Victober is a month-long read along during which participants read all sorts of literature written in the Victorian era. I adore everything about the Victorian era and I have long been a lover of Victorian novels, so Victober is right up my bookish alley. When I participated last year, I found that it was some of my best reading of the year. I am looking forward to all the amazing books I’m going to experience this year!

My TBR list includes:

The Woman in White (I started it yesterday and already love it!)
Tess of the D’Urbervilles (because Thomas Hardy’s writing is simply lovely)
Shirley (by the amazing Charlotte Brontë)
David Copperfield (I had to have some Dickens in there)
My Dearest, Dearest Albert (letters of Queen Victoria to her husband)
Poetry by Emily Brontë (because there is nothing quite like Victorian poetry)
Ruth (by my one of my favorite authors, Elizabeth Gaskell)
Lady Audley’s Secret (just for fun)

Ambitious? Maybe, but I just couldn’t help myself. I want to read ALL the Victorian books!
